Blanc de Chine

The county of Dehua is located in the central part of Fujian Province, a famous producing area of ​​contemporary Chinese porcelain.

Dehua kiln is adjacent to porcelain clay production that is soft, low in iron content and high in potassium content. The porcelain fired with this raw material have a white and moist glaze color thus the name Blanc de Chine, like beautiful jade. Under sunlight, it is translucent with a faint pink or milky white color.

The firing technique of Dehua porcelain has been included in the national intangible cultural heritage list.
